03/27/12 USSSA Baseball - New bat SAFTY requirements for Pasadena Lakes Opimist
Parents, Coaches, Board Members, Commissioners and Umpires, Do to the increasing concern for the safety to our ball players and questions to what rules Pasadena is governed by when Baseball Bats are concerned; the following Bat Rule is implemented effective immediately: Pasadena Lakes Optimist will be using guidelines for BAT USE which Follow USSSA Baseball Rules. Click link above to review what those rules are. All bats MUST have a 1.15 bpf rating stamped on the bat unless it is a wood bat or a "T ball" Bat with diameter of 21/4 inches for use in Pasadena Lakes optimist League play. Exception: USSSA implemented that the "USSSA" stamp must be on the bat for use, as this part of the rule was implemented starting January of this year Pasadena will not enforce this part of the rule until august 1st, 2012, but all bats used in Pasadena League Play for the spring 2012 season must have the 1.15 BPF rating stamped on the side of the bat..
