Shetland2010 Spring Rules 1. Time limit is 1 hour and 30 minutes. 2. 7 runs per inning maximum. game is over when losing team is mathematically out of catching up and winning. 3 .Time is granted when an infielder has possesion of the ball and calls time in fair teritory. 4. 5 swings total. Coach has option of pitching to player but first and second pitch are strikes regardless if the player swings at the ball.(this is to speed up the game). After first or second pitch coach has option of allowing the player to hit off the tee,.Foul tips apply but still count as strikes and cannot exceed pitch limit of 5 pitches.3 strike rule applys at all times. 5. regulation games are 6 innings, 4 incase of bad weather or lightning. Pinto 1. Time limit is 1 hour and 30 minutes. 2. No bunting in pinto. 3. Regulation games are 6 innings 4 incase of bad weather or lightning. Mustang 1. no bunting allowed with player at 3rd base. 2. No butcher boy.(see bronco division rule for definition) 3. No head first sliding at home 4. No leads at 3rd base (cannot leave base until ball crosses the plate) 4. league games are 6 innings and 1 hour and 45 minutes. 5. 10 run rule applys after 4 innings. Bronco 1. If runner steals home while pitcher is throwing ball and batter swings, the batter is automatically out in the judgment of the umpire. We highly recommend coaches refrain from this as it is very dangerous. 2. no butcher boy.(this is when when batter shows bunt to draw infield in then pulls back and swings at ball).Penalty is batter is out. 3. no head first sliding at home plate. Pony 1. If runner steals home while pitcher is throwing ball and batter swings, the batter is automatically out in the judgement of umpire. We highly recommend coaches refrain from this as it is very dangerous. 2. no butcher boy 3. no head first sliding at home plate Finally... It is the obligation of each coach to accuratly record his pitchers names and innings pitched in ther score books for reveiw upon request from opposing coach at anytime. If coach will not or does not game is to be played under protest and final reveiw to be made by baseball commisioner and/or board of pasadena for final decision. In all divisions there is NO MANDATORY SLIDE RULE AT HOME PLATE, it is recommended and requested that coaches teach their players to slide at home plate at all times when there is a play being made at home plate. The rule is slide to avoid contact it does not mean they have to slide. IF CONTACT IS MADE WHILE A PLAYER IS AT HOME PLATE AND HE DOES NOT SLIDE IT IS THE JUDGMENT OF THE UMPIRE TO CALL HIM/HER OUT/SAFE
